Charles "Buddy" Lester Biggs

Mr. Charles “Buddy” Biggs, age 85, of Franklin, KY, entered into rest on Thursday, March 18th, 2021 at 10:29 PM at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 21st, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 21st, 2021 at 3:00 PM.  Mr. Biggs’ wishes were to be cremated.

Buddy was born on February 16th, 1936 in Franklin, KY to the late Robert Allen Biggs and the late Frances (Turner) Biggs Lloyd.  He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Sonya Biggs Doerr; and 1 brother, Larry Allen Biggs.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Bettie Biggs; 1 son, Kelly Biggs (Holly) of Franklin, KY; 2 grandchildren, Blake Biggs (Maggie) of Bowling Green, KY and Spencer Doerr of Newport Beach, CA; 1 great-grandson, Asher Pierce Biggs; 3 sisters-in-law, Nancy Thurman, Ann Fleming, and Linda Turner; and 2 nephews.

Buddy was a member of First Baptist Church, in Franklin, KY where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, a Trustee and a Deacon.  He was a 1954 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School.  Buddy graduated from the Hobart Welding School in Troy, OH.  He worked in the welding business for his entire life.  Buddy was employed by Kirby Manufacturing before opening his own business, Buddy’s Custom Welding.  He enjoyed spending his time fishing and wading streams.
