Charles was born April 6, 1940 in Macon County, TN to the late Authur Allen Tuttle and Mammie Altie Taylor Tuttle.
Along with his parents, He was preceded in death by a Daughter, Lorrie Ann Tuttle Diamond; Siblings - Anna Lois Tuttle Swindle (H.C.), Eva Olene Tuttle Ladd (Herschel), Mable Marie Tuttle Spears (Ralph) Jimmy “Fred” Cleveland Tuttle (Delvinia), William Everette Tuttle and Hillous Gwenn Tuttle (Ethel)
Survivors include his cherished Wife of 60 years, Brenda Louise Brandon Tuttle; Daughter Angela Stout, Son-in-Law Tommy Stout; Grandchildren Sara Morris (Brandon), Dana Hester (Shane), Alicia Woodard (Dustin) and Hanna Wilkerson (Nick); Great-Grandchildren Lexi Morris, Dylan Woodard, Cheyenne Morris, Halle Hester, Faithlynne Wilkerson, Audrey Woodard, Eli Wilkerson and Scarlett Morris; Sister-in-Law Roberta Tuttle (wife of William).
He had lots of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many special friends and church family that he loved dearly. Marrying Brenda gave him a double-dose of siblings who he adored.
He had a slew of nick-names: Charlie, Buddy, Chief, Fat Albert, SP4, Mr. Man, Brother Charles, “Sister Charles” :), Daddy, Pa. But to him you were either Sis or Bubba.
He embodied the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. He was saved July 14, 1968 and joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church that September. He was ordained as a Deacon May 29, 1983.
At the same time, he was a rascal. He stole many noses, tickled chins, hid quarters, told of his “mossy” and his “man” and many other jokes and antics. He taught lessons in driving, whistling, and grass-blowing. The granddaughters cherished sleepovers at Nana & Pa’s where he would rock them to sleep singing “Pa’s Little Angels” even after they were grown and had children of their own.
He loved the finer things in life; Southern Gospel Music, buttermilk and cornbread, checkers and cracking walnuts. He often used BBQ sauce as a face mask while enjoying a good plate of Ribs.
He was a Past Master of the Fairfield Masonic Lodge #553, where he had many friends who thought the world of him.
In addition to his wife and daughter, he was cared for by special friends Mike & Terri Graves.
He loved many, and many loved him and will miss him dearly down here.
Expressions of sympathy maybe made to the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. c/o Derrick Marlin, 642 Widener Circle, Franklin, KY 42134
