Carlotta Rene Pollard

Carlotta Rene Pollard went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept 19, 2026. She passed while holding hands with her two daughters, Leslie Gregory of Franklin KY and Jessica Hand of Hendersonville TN. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Elsie Edith VanMeter, Brother, August Vercelli, and her husband of 32 years, Lendell Pollard. Her wealth was her family; in addition to her daughters, she leaves behind sons-in-law Kevin Gregory and Jordan Powell, Stepsons-Monty (Shiela) and Kendall Pollard, Grandson-Taylor Gregory, Granddaughters-Makayla Gregory and her wife Lacy Minnicks, Preslee Hand and Phoenix Powell. She was graced with one great grandson, Walker Lockhart. She also leaves behind many other cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved family members.

Carlotta Pollard was born Dec 5, 1955 in McAlester, OK. She and Lendell relocated to Nashville in 1985 and later settled in Orlinda, TN. Carlotta worked tirelessly as a waitress and a meter reader in Sumner County before transitioning to a full time caregiver for many years. Her kindness and compassion in caring for sick and elderly touched countless families.

On any given day, you could find Carlotta at baseball fields, basketball gyms, dance recitals, cheer competitions or anything and everything that her children, grandchildren or great grandchild had on the calendar.

Whether you knew her as Carlotta, Nanny or Nana…if she liked you, you knew it. If she didn’t like you, you knew that too.

She will be remembered the most as a wonderful mother, a doting grandmother, great-grandmother and the embodiment of hard work.

A memorial service to celebrate Carlotta's life will be held at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory in Franklin, KY, on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, at 1:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the funeral home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Carlotta's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at stjude.org.
