Brenda Kay Barnes

Mrs. Brenda Kay Barnes, age 72, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 1:42 PM at her residence.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will continue on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Brenda was born on April 17, 1952 in Franklin, KY to the late Robert Earl Dinkens and the late Eula Claudine (Powell) Dinkens. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Keen.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gary "Curley" Dean Barnes of Franklin, KY; 4 sons, Bubby (Kathy) Barnes, Walter Barnes, Tony (Rhonda) Barnes, John (Courtney) Barnes all of Franklin, KY; 11 grandchildren, Kari, Kory, Kacy, Alex (Taylor), Cody (Hailey), Sarah (Preston), Mackayla (Andy), Hannah (Jack), Corbyn, Paislee and Fletcher; 2 great-grandchildren, Knox Rhea and Aspyn Hagedorn; 4 siblings, Joe Dinkens, Ricky (Brenda) Dinkens, Jenetta Lyles and James (Donna) Lyles; and several nieces and nephews.

Brenda was a homemaker and caregiver. She enjoyed racing, camping, crossword puzzles, HGTV and spending time spoiling her grandchildren.
