Brenda Joan "Joanie" Anderson, 76, a cherished member of the Franklin, Kentucky community, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Born on February 13, 1950, in Orlinda, Tennessee, Brenda embraced life with warmth, creativity, and unmatched kindness.
Brenda is lovingly remembered by her son, Bruce Anderson, and her adored grandchildren, Jazmine Anderson and Jaxson Ranburger, all of Franklin, KY. Her legacy continues through her great-grandson, Ashton Read, and her siblings, Michael Lowhorn, Wade Lowhorn, and Sandra Henson, all of Franklin, KY. Brenda was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, Bruce Finley Anderson; her son, Preston Anderson; her parents, James Hinton Lowhorn and Marjorie (Dorris) Lowhorn; and her siblings, Gary Lowhorn, Carolyn Anderson, and Sherry Burchett.
Brenda attended Franklin-Simpson High School and worked for Dustex as a laborer. Outside of work, she found joy and solace in sewing, knitting, and cooking, passions she shared with all who knew her. Her ability to craft and create was matched only by her generous spirit and love for her family.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory in Franklin, KY, during visitations on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Brenda's life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the same location, with interment to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, KY. Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.
Brenda's final journey will be carried by pallbearers Jaxson Ranburger, Kyle Jenkins, Braxton Jenkins, Preston Jenkins, Chris Eaton, and Ronald Henson, with Easton Jenkins serving as an honorary pallbearer.
