Bobby David Corley

Mr. Bobby David Corley, age 82, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Sunday, July 30th, 2023 at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 10:00 AM til 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Funeral services will be held the same day, Wednesday, August 2nd at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with interment to follow in the Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.

Bobby was born on August 5, 1940 in Crittenden County, KY to the late Veldo Corley and the late Jesse (Doss) Corley. He is also preceded in death by 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

He is survived by his spouse of 54 years, Charlene Corley; 2 children, Mandy Bills (Tony) of Franklin, KY and Michael Corley of Clearwater, Fl; 3 grandchildren, Abby Bills, Logan Bills and Colin Bills; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobby was a member of Woodlawn Missionary Baptist Church, a lifetime member of Moose Lodge #732 in Henderson, KY, and was also a Kentucky Colonel. He was a retired quality-control inspector from Eaton Corporation and in his free time, enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and bowling. After retirement, he received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences and returned to the work force for a short time as a counselor for the Earl C. Clements Job Corps Center and the Community Methodist Hospital before moving to Franklin to be closer to his grandchildren.
