Alton Lee Eaton

Mr. Alton Lee Eaton, age 79, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 11:20 AM at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Visitation will continue on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24th at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Alton was born on December 5, 1943 in Warren County, KY to the late Robert Eaton and the late Minnie Mae O'Neal Eaton.  He is also preceded in death by 5 siblings, Hollis Eaton, Raleigh Eaton, Mary Farmer, Shirley Biggers and Ercia Biggs.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janette (Graves) Eaton; 4 children, Randy Eaton (Karen), Bubba Eaton (Dewana), Kenny Eaton all of Franklin, KY and Melissa Grissom of Scottsville, KY; 11 grandchildren, Jessica Proffitt, Abigail Eaton, Adam Eaton, Zack Eaton, Katie Oates, Tori Killen, Olivia Crafton, Brandon Caudill, Lindsey Landers, McKenzie Grissom and Harleigh Grissom; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert Eaton, Jr of Tuscaloosa, AL, Carl Eaton of Dallas, TX, Betty Sisco of Gallatin, TN, Wilma Berry of Indianapolis, IN and Sue Bowling of Franklin, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

Alton was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Franklin, KY.  He was a retired carpenter.  Alton was a former member of the Silver Wheels Motorcycle Club formerly in Franklin, KY.  He was a mustang enthusiast, loved Nascar racing and playing the guitar and singing.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
